What we believe

1.                   Of the Scriptures:

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (Genesis 1:1 thru Revelation 22:21) as  supernaturally and verbally inspired by God and inerrant, infallible in the original writings. They are the complete and final revelation of the will of God to man, and are the supreme authority in faith and life.

 II Timothy 3:16,17; Isaiah 8:20; I Thessalonians 5:21

2.                   Of the True God:

We believe in one God: eternal, omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, existing as three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one in nature, attributes, power and glory.  John 4:24; Psa. 83:18; Exodus 15:11; Mark 12:30; Matt. 28:19; John 10:30 Ephesians 2:18

3.                   Of Jesus Christ:

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to become God. Was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, so that he could reveal God and redeem sinful man. Isa. 7:14; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2; II Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5

4.                   Of Man:

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Genesis 1:27; Genesis 1:31; Genesis 3:6-24; Isa. 53:6; Romans 1:20; Romans 5:19

5.                  Of Salvation:

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and rose again for our justification. All who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood and are saved by grace through faith wholly apart from human merit and works. Ephesians 2:8; John 3:16; Philippians 2:16-17; Hebrews 7:25; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 2:18

6.                   Of the Holy Spirit:

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with God the Father and God the Son; that He baptizes all believers into the body of Christ once at conversion; that He indwells, seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies and helps the believer. We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit are completed and not applicable to the work of the Holy Spirit today. John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 1:13-14

7.                   Of the Security of the Believer:

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God and thereby become the children of God and are eternally secure.  John 3:31; Romans 7:12; Romans 828; Philippians 1:6

8.                  Of the Church:

We believe that the local Church is an organized body of believers immersed upon credible confession of faith in Jesus Christ, sovereign in polity and bonded together for work, worship and mutual edification, observance of the ordinances (baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper), and worldwide proclamation of the Gospel. Matt. 18:17; Matt. 28:20; I Corinthians 1:1-13; Acts 2:41-42; Titus1; I Corinthians 11:2I Timothy 3; Acts 13:1-4; I Peter 5:1-4

9.                   Of Last Things:

We believe in Christ’s coming in the air, the bodily resurrection of all the dead, the saved  “caught up” to meet Him at His return and prior to the Tribulation, to eternal life and blessedness in Heaven and the unsaved to eternal, conscious suffering and woe in hell. Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4:13-18; Acts 24:15; Matt. 25:31-46; Revelation 22:11
